I just dont understand the logic in 'em. Your training the dog that it's O.K to pee in the house.
when you take them up hes gotta be confused as hell. To me you took on the responsibilty of pet ownership and just cause you dont want to walk him in the weather you resort to that.
it difficult re training when you took them up I compare it to diapers on a baby surly your 3 year old child was taken off diapers and potty trained but some people just keep them on the things pee pads amazing logic to me ! Its got to smell in the house.
the cost in these things ? Seems lazy to me to take on a puppy and not train him while you sit on the couch watching re runs of MASH ! I'm a college student with my own apartment with a yard and such, also right near a park, and I'm strongly considering getting a German Shepherd.
anybody have experience with bringing their dogs to class? I'd be loathe to leave the guy alone whenever I go to class. Is it generally on a case-by-case basis with the professors, or have you found that it's generally an OK thing to do with a well trained, quiet dog?
I am an animal lover. I rescue cats and dogs. As of yesterday my dog pack killed my 13 year old cat! They have killed 3 cats over a six year period. We have done everything to keep this from happening. Seperate rooms, supervision and just when my guard is let down for a moment they did it again.
the responsible parties are 3 dogs I have raised from puppy hood and 1 adult rescue.
will lay down with the cats and show no agression what so ever around us.

do they keep doing this? Can a person stop this split personality? I went to the store and the dogs managed to push the door open and I came home to hold my dying cat in my arms all but stripped of his hair and bleeding! I cried for hours. I do not want to re-home them but I cannot have this happen again.
advice is appreciated I have spayed, neutered, vetted and found homes for over 35 animals. 26 of them cats. 20 of the cats feral. I have crates and 2 seperate rooms one is a devoted cat room but the dogs do have to go through it to go outside. I just did not crate them yesterday once again trustng them like a fool. My dogs first kill was a feral.
wild. And remember this was over a period of six years! But excuses aside, based on the answears so far you all are correct. I am going to have to break up the pack by placing them and find homes for the cats. It is not fair to them and I guess I am naive to think I could change nature. 
the lady person (sorry cant remember the trainer lady's name) used whats called sound divertion (making a loud noise (such as a blow horn) to startel the dog when she/he is doing something wrong) to stop a dog from stealing food off the table.
in the episode it actually worked. Do you think using this same method to stop my dog when she is peeing in the house is a good idea? or will it just starle her and make her pee more? pros? cons?
My dog was recently started on a combination of Prednisone and Amoxicillin by the vet.
vet think she was bitten by fire ants and she has mutliple sores on her head. She's been scratching so when I took her to the vet last night, that's what she got started on.
did fine last night, went outside late in the evening and when I woke up this morning, I saw she had peed in the floor! This is VERY unusual for her! I work 12 hours shifts and if I can't get anyone to take her out she will occassionally have to stay by herself she has never once peed in the house when I've worked 12 hours! She hasn't peed in the floor since she was a small puppy!! I don't know what's wrong with her.Help!
My 11 week old bulldog puppy has had his first vaccination and is due for his next shot next week. I woke up this morning and he sounded like he was having trouble breathing. At first I thought he had omething stuck in his throat and tried to rub his throat but nothing seemed to help, he was still eating all his meals and otherwise behaving normally. I came home at lunch time and he was still like it so I took him to the vet, he has no temperature and his heartbeat and everything was normal.
vet said it might be a chest infection and prescribed antibiotics. He has taken 2 so far and if anything he seems worse, he has started wheezing and coughing a lot more and is now spitting up foamy phlegm.
anyone else had anything like this happen? Is there anything I can do to help his breathing or to make him more comfortable? How did he get sick when he is vaccinated and hasn't been near any other dogs? I feel so bad for him.and really worried It isn't possible to take him back to the original vet, he is from a breeder 4 hours away He has been to a vet already today just not the original vet! The vet said to bring him back on Sunday if he isn't better, but e just doesn't seem to have improved at all so far. I have had him for 3 weeks, and this is the first sign of any symptoms, he was perfectly healthy until this morning when he woke up he has definitely not been in contact with any other dog ever, excpet the breeder's dogs over 3 weeks ago He is an Australian Bulldog I slept with him coughing on and off all night but he's still in good spirits, the phlegm seems to be loosening a little so hopefully the antibiotics are working! I discussed with my Doctor about surgery on my neck. I asked about lifting. I explained I have a small dog that is paralyzed. He immediately told me “The best thing you can do is to put it to sleep.” I looked at him and said “Your telling me to kill my dog?” He said “It would be putting her to sleep.” I told him I would not kill “Muffy.” I knew what putting them to sleep was. I have a rescue for dogs.
the appointment for the surgery was canceled.
surgery was scheduled for a Monday and I told him it was a bad day for me. My husband had a Doctors appointment that day. I'm thinking no to the surgery. I can't get over him telling me to kill my dog. No matter what words you use it still means the same thing.
down, put to sleep, euthanasia, it all means the same thing.

reason I didn't put her down is because she is a live being that had a lot of life left to live.

being paralyzed don't mean you have to die, especially when you have someone willing to take care of you and love you.
is not suffering and she just can't walk on four legs. If only you could look into her eyes. I am sure there will be a time but it is not now. I only asked the Doctor about lifting when I had the surgery. He didn't know anything about her except I needed to lift her because she couldn't use her back legs and that was the next thing that came out of his mouth.

i live in a two bedroom townhome in a community with my mother, grandmother, sister, cat and moms boyfriend. we recently got a new puppy, he is very cute, cuddly and not trained. so he pees and poos sometimes indoors, for training purposes we leave him outside with a doggy door. he gets lonely sometimes and whines when he does so we bring him inside.
in mind all my neighbors are old, fat, retired and bitter.
president of the homeowners association lives right next door. another ugly bald one lives across these two have been at it with my puppy for the longest time.
